I want to take the time to pledge my support for Sheriff David Bartlett.
I have had the privilege and honor of working and knowing him for almost 30 years. I have been in Law Enforcement in Columbia County for over 25 years, having worked for the Columbia County Sheriffs Department, Town of Greenport Police Department and the City of Hudson Police Department where I retired from in 2015.
During that time he became my close friend and confidant. He has been there for me and my family through many difficult times. Always offering us his support.
In 2016 I became Chief of Police for the Town of Stockport, after the Officer in Charge (who happens to be Sheriff Bartlett's opponent) had left that position.
With the assistance of Sheriff Bartlett and his total support I was able to bring back into service a local agency that was on the brink of being shut down and taken out of service.
Sheriff Bartlett and his staff have always taken the time to help with the process without hesitation or complaint.
His Deputies and Corrections Officers are a great representation of how professional and involved Sheriff Bartlett is when it comes to Public Service and what is best for the people of Columbia County.
Thank you for your service, Sheriff David Bartlett.
The security staff at Hudson Correctional would like to proudly endorse you for the office of Sheriff of Columbia County. We place our total support in you in the 2017 election.
The job you have done for the citizens of Columbia County has shown your dedication and professionalism. You have led by example with your honesty, integrity, and commitment to the community. Because of you the County is safer and as members of the community we need you to continue as Sheriff of Columbia County.

Experience, caring, hard working, three words that describe Sheriff Dave Bartlett.
I am writing to show my support for David Bartlett for Columbia County Sheriff. Sheriff Bartlett has the experience that we need in our county. He has always done what is best for our community. The sheriff has been doing an amazing job trying to control the opioid problem in the county. He has reached out to every corner of our county to stop the influx of the illegal drugs and protect our children from these. He has placed resource officers in the schools to help educate the children on the evils of the drugs, and to guide the kids to be productive with their lives, and stay on the right side of the law.
Sheriff Bartlett is very active in the community and cares about what happens in our county. He is a volunteer firefighter, coach’s kid’s baseball and is an avid hunter.
The Sheriff is also a big supporter of our second amendment rights, which we want to keep! He has publicly come out against the SAFE ACT.
Sheriff Bartlett has the experience we need and has the love for our county. He is honest, hard working and has the respect of his men and women who work for him, and the surrounding law agencies.
I urge everyone to get out and vote for Sheriff Dave Bartlett for Columbia County Sheriff!
All of my friends in Columbia County have a great protector and public servant in their Sheriff David Bartlett. I am proud to have worked with Dave and his outstanding Department, and to call Dave a friend. Dave’s work has helped save lives and protect property. He has been on the forefront of efforts to modernize emergency services, and is showing great foresight in recognizing and dealing with the opiate epidemic. Dave is also a stalwart defender of the Second Amendment. Columbia County can count on Sheriff David Bartlett and I hope Dave can count on your support on Election Day, Tuesday, November 7. He has my support and my full endorsement.

I just feel the need to let my friends know just what kind of person/man we are dealing with as our Sheriff of Columbia County. Awhile back I skidded off the road on a slippery road on Route 66 at the top of the hill. I went across the road and down a bank into some trees. Needless to say I was shaking. I saw a car stop. (Not a sheriff car) and a young man walking through the snow to me. It was Sheriff Bartlett off duty. He calmed me, called me a tow truck. (Asked if Burch Towing was ok as he was close). I said “oh great I love Barry Burch. He waited with me til I was pulled out, put back in my car and on my way. The gentle, polite take charge, professional way he handled the situation and off duty at that. This is something I am indebted to Sheriff Bartlett for. When you realize he was in a family car, off duty, he could have very well gone on home to a warm house and dinner. That is integrity in its finest. Doing the right thing with no one looking or knowing that is David Bartlett. I just had to let my friends know all this if you did not already, Sheriff Bartlett is quite a guy. Please vote for him for Columbia County Sheriff.
