We, the past and retired Sheriffs who have known and worked with David Bartlett during much of his career with the Sheriff's Office, unequivocally support his efforts to continue on as Columbia County Sheriff.
Over the course of his 33 plus year career with our Sheriff's Office, (the past four as Sheriff), David Bartlett has shown that he has the ability to effectively address the very important public safety issues we experience.
A Sheriff's Office in New York State is a unique and important part of law enforcement and public safety for its communities. The Sheriff is elected by the people to manage not only the law enforcement Sheriff's patrols and investigators we see and read about, but also county wide civil law enforcement, corrections and the county jail, emergency communications and emergency management. This position takes more then just a police officer, it takes someone with the utmost in personal commitment, fiscal prudence and leadership.
Our Sheriff's Office needs a seasoned manager who has extensive widespread experience and training in all areas of the position, and is on the cutting edge of the most important issues in Columbia County, New York State and nationally. A person who is already there NOW working with other agencies on every level so our county continues to be one of the safest in our state.
David Bartlett has proven that he has what it takes to be successful in this very important position. Please join us on November 7th in re-electing David P. Bartlett as our Columbia County Sheriff!
